NFTs go full throttle in the new Formula E game

More and more games are relying on cryptocurrencies and blockchain. By purchasing NFTs, players can enjoy additional features and, at best, turn them into cash.

There are already several examples of the use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the computer game industry. Now it’s with Animoca BrandsAnother gaming developer was added. This emerges from a press release that Bitcoin Hero has received. A blockchain-based motorsport game will be launched on the market through a joint license agreement with Formula E. Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will play a major role in this.

In such a way that the Formula E game uses Animoca’s REVV utility token as the currency in the game. There are already a number of other games in which the REVV is used as an in-game currency. These also have motorsport on the topic, as it is Animoca’s F1 Delta Time and the upcoming MotoGP game.

The name of the new Formula E game is not yet officially known. What is certain, however, is that the acquisition and collection of items covered by NFTs play an important role. The market launch is planned for 2021. REVV is meanwhile already on several exchanges and on the website revvmotorsport.com available.

Free monetization of NFTs is allowed

As with the other products in the REVV token ecosystem, users of the new game have full control over their ownership of in-game assets. They are also free to trade or sell these assets on secondary markets. There are also games where this is not the case in this form and you simply acquire a license to use them without the possibility of monetizing these in-game assets elsewhere.

Formula E was founded in 2011; the first race took place in Beijing in 2014. The series is driven entirely with electric racing cars. There are more automobile manufacturers at the start than in any other racing series. In its six-season history, Formula E has established itself as a purpose-driven innovator working closely with the world’s leading automakers and commercial partners. The goal is to develop electric vehicles and sustainable mobility technologies that ultimately also benefit the performance and efficiency of electric road vehicles.

Almost at the same time as Animoca, the competitor Enjin announced that it would be launching three new games together with the Canadian gaming studio Skymarch. Here, too, the developers rely on NFTs “to improve the core gameplay”.
